I've been exploring Flickr. After taking their tour, I fell into "defining moments" and traveled the world through these pictures. Mostly black and white, which I love. Girls in Bali laughing in the water, just as a wave is about to break. Some of these "defining moments" are video. I watched "SLC dreaming" of a car driving at dusk through stoplights, eventually the sky opens and snowy mountains surround the freeway, finding ourselves back in traffic a few minutes later. I love that I can view "defining moments" by using a world map.
Flickr clock shows the images uploaded by time of day! I can also search these by looking at a map. Impressed how very poor many of these shots were. "Most popular tags" lets me search by grouping, like Mt. Rainier, Lopez Island, Fallen Leaf Lake.
I found "Commons", photos that have no known restrictions. Am having a devil of a time getting the fine skeleton I found to show up here! Using the "photo" icon above, I'm still trying. Alright. I don't understand how to get Flickr commons images onto my blog. But I can easily include images from my desktop. Good enough for now.
