Jumping back in. I've never heard of RSS feed collections. I learned that Feedster link wasn't working. "Topix" was organized by top stories (nationwide) and also by SF (more local discussions). One of the SF blogs was about science and democracy (by Timothy Ferris). Of course the title caught my eye: Science and democracy go hand in hand". I also think of science as being a cornerstone of free society. My voice coming from Timothy.
Technorati was not organized like my head. There was "Today" at top of page and then "risers" and "fallers". I don't recognize these blogs and it would be meaningful if there was some indication of what they were about. I clicked on "deadspin" blog and read an odd conversation about the Olympics.
"Google Blog Search" was laid out in a familiar way (it is Google) and so felt comfortable. It wasn't organized by topics but I knew that I wanted to search "classroom 2.0". Very cool conversation going on over the past 2 days about teachers being reviewed on the basis of their student's test scores. One teacher comments on the practice of following the bubble of students who are almost proficient (And here I thought IH was the only school doing this). The writer used a word like "scandalous". Hmm. I could spend time following these conversations!
